Dinner — A Bar N Ranch Wagyu Burger – sub Onion Rings
Upon entering the parking lot, I knew I would be happy with my choice. The parking lot was filled with cars, and there were only a few restaurants. I only hoped that I wouldn’t have to wait for ever to get a seat. Pleasantly, I was seated at the bar with no wait.
I ordered a rather pricy glass of wine to go with whatever meat item I was planning to enjoy. While sipping the wine, I reviewed the one page menu and had to decide between the daily special (a half rack of ribs) and a burger. To meet my blog needs, the burger list captured my attention. The burgers were priced between 12 and 15 bucks, so it was easy to pick one that appealed.
The “A Bar N Ranch Wagyu Burger” called my name with a description of “House made wheat bun / Brazos Valley horseradish pecan cheddar / heirloom tomato / Dijon mustard / pickled red onion / arugula”. It comes with house cut fries, but the reviews suggested I should have the onion rings, so I did the substitution.
I’m going to describe this as one of the best burgers I’ve eaten. The blend of rib meat and sirloin created a very tasty (not very low fat) patty to be topped with an amazing cheese. The rest of the veggies complimented the strong tastes and created a perfect sandwich. I
always order my burgers “rare”, and the chefs met my expectations on the dot.
The onion rings were very thick with a thick crumb coating. I used a knife to cut them into halves so I could dip them. The sauce makes the match. A very spicy dip and the crunchy onion tease the taste buds. I’m glad I requested the substitution.
While I was eating I noticed a half rack of ribs pass me, and I’d say that wouldn’t be a bad choice either. So, take a date and have them both.
