It was a wonderful dinner in 2018, Easter dinner that is. Friends were here, food was shared, and the lily bloomed.
A few weeks later, mom had cut back the dead blooms. And a few weeks after that, everything died. So, mom cut it back to three little stubs.
By the end of summer, the pot looked like a dead plant in need of recycling. However, we left it in the window.
Mom watered this little kid once a week, or whenever it felt dry. A piece of green popped up near Halloween, and I thought, “wow, it lives.”
On Easter this year, the plant was about 2 feet tall, but no signs of blooms. On my birthday, two buds appeared.
This morning, the first of two beautiful blooms opened in the morning sun.
Patience paid off.
Oh it’s so nice there. The views, the flowers… blessed.
So beautiful!!!
This came up just at the right time. I was just getting ready to send you a card. Looking forward to seeing photos of your 2019 flower garden. Your 2018 garden was so impressive…just the right mix of good, soil, good plants, sunshine and a green thumb.
The flowers are so pretty. Nice job!!!!
