Fall Planting for Spring Color

I purchased bulbs for the plant boxes at the Depot a few weeks ago when they were 50% off. I said to mom, “these will look great in the Spring.” However, I wasn’t thinking about the ground perhaps being frozen. Alas, it was solid as a rock.

So, today, after 4 days in the 50s, it seemed it was finally soft enough to get into. I pulled out the power auger and poked a bunch of holes in the ground and laid plans for a beautiful Spring Color explosion.

I’m going to need some late summer color, so if you have any suggestions, please add them to the comments. Thanks.

The 3 inch auger on my battery powered drill made quick work of the digging – 30 holes
