I tripled the onions and (yellow, not green) bell pepper. I added cayenne pepper and paprika to bump the heat. After 30 minute of simmering, the color wasn’t as red as those packaged versions, so I set the catsup on the table for mom.
Mom didn’t even grab the catsup. That’s a sure sign that these Joes were juicy and slightly sweet. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
