The stone is always bigger than you think.
I have running the blade and the landscape rake over two tiny obstacles in the driveway since Fall. When blowing snow, the plow would leave an ice berm. Now, Spring is here and the water is eroding around them, as I cannot level the ground.
Today is the day. I’ve got the backhoe on OK (Orange Kubota), and I’m ready to dig. One of the obstacles is a two topped rock that looks really evil. So, I start with the smaller 5 inch round stone.
I have removed over a dozen rocks from the road on the past year, and I was sure this would be a quick 30 minute cleanup.
The tip of the rock-berg was beginning to reveal a much larger problem. I dug around this mountain for 30 more minutes before realizing there was another huge rock sitting next to it.
So, bigger the whole became. I was able to wobble the rock, but I could not lift it out of the whole. So, what to do? Burry it.
As always, my supervisor was here to bark when cars come up behind me and to pace around the tractor. He seemed camera shy today.
What about that menacing second obstacle? It was about the size of a small cooler. It just popped right out. Go figure.
But think about it, you’re making great tractor memories! Great job!
